Welcome to Ripple! Our mission is to bridge the gap between online engagement and in-person experiences, fostering meaningful real-life connections and building communities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information as you use our social utility app.

Information We Collect
Information You Provide to Us:
- Account Information: Personal details and phone verification for safety and authenticity.
- Profile Information: Your interests, hobbies, and mutual connections.
- Communications: In-app comments, group chats, and shared content.
- Event Details: Information about events you create, RSVP to, or participate in.
Information Collected Automatically:
- Location Data: When you set your location on your profile, we store it as coordinates (latitude and longitude) so we can show you events and people near you. We also store the location of events you create or attend. If you tap the “find me” button on the map, we use your device’s GPS for that one action only — it moves the map and is not stored or sent to us. We do not track your location in the background.
- Usage and Interaction Data: How you interact with the app and its features, including session recordings of your app and website screens — see Analytics, Session Recording and Service Providers below.
- Device and Technical Information: Device data and technical performance metrics.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: Used to enhance experience and understand usage patterns.
Age and the 18+ Requirement
Ripple is an 18+ service. We collect your date of birth when you create your account and use it to confirm that you meet our minimum age requirement. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
The law requires us to take reasonable steps to confirm that our users are adults, and we may introduce additional age-assurance checks in the future. If we do, we will update this Privacy Policy and give you a specific notice before collecting any additional information for that purpose.
How We Use Your Information

- Communication: Enable real-time messaging and group chats.

Analytics, Session Recording and Service Providers
We use third-party providers to run and improve Ripple. They process information on our behalf, and some are located outside Australia — including in the United States — so your information may be stored and processed overseas.
- Product analytics and session recording (PostHog): We record how the app and website are used. This includes session recordings, which capture what was shown on your screen while you used Ripple — including text and images displayed in the app. We use these to diagnose problems and improve the product. Recordings are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically.
- Hosting and database (Supabase): Stores your account, profile, events, photos and messages.
- Payments (Stripe): Processes ticket payments. We never receive or store your card details.
- Error monitoring (Sentry): Receives technical diagnostics when something goes wrong in the app.
- Messaging (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Twilio, Resend): Deliver push notifications, SMS verification codes and email.
These providers may receive technical information such as your IP address and device details as part of providing their service. We do not sell your personal information.
